samash sucks

in the newest samash catalogue, they post their rode nt2's as coming with the flight aluminum case and a windscreen. buyer beware, i ordered a rode nt2 through samash, and the idiot salesman calls and tells me that after two weeks, it's finally in. i drive the hour to get to the store, to find out it didn't come with the windscreen or the case. the salesman was a total jerk to me, cuz he thinks since he works for ash, he's the better man who knows everything. well, i still bought the mic, which sounds incredible, but i wrote rode about the case, and explained what happened. they told me that i could buy a case from them for $80. yeah right.

i went to walmart and bought a sentry safe for $30 and some foam for $9. and made an incredible case. now i have to make a pop-filter out of a stocking, but i don't know how to attach this pop-filter so that it sits in place. any ideas.

just venting some frustrations. thanks for listening.
 
Serious--Glad to hear you didn't turn that place into a post office. Thanks for the heads up, we'll avoid Sam Ash like the plague.

Buy a pop filter. After messing around with my homemade one, trying to adapt it to a different stand... forget it.. go crazy. If everything weren't closed I go buy one...

Well worth the $20 or so.
 
I recently bought an NT2 also. The month before I bought it, they were shipping them with all the accesories, then by the time I got my ass in ear and got it, they weren't anymore. Sucks. Still, everyone had the same deal. A buddy of mine bought one at the same time, from AMS I think, and had the same deal.

Good idea on the case there. I'll probably do that, as just having it in the cheap bag it came with makes me nervous.
 
I never liked sam ash, With one exception The sales people I've encounterd all had attitudes. Fuck em, I have the internet and their not getting my MONEY. Have a nice day!
 
Sam Ash *still* has it listed on their website that the microphone DOES indeed come with the windscreen, shock mount AND aluminum flight case.

I had the same experience at Guitar Center. They sold me a AKG2000-C, a great mic, sans
a shockmount that AKG's website says comes
with the Mic.

The salesman says he called AKG and the
shockmount is not included, it costs another
$120.

Screw them, I'm using a homemade shockmount
and they can go to hell.

By the way, the AKG sounds fantastic.
 
I work for a brokerage firm a block and a half from Sam Ash in midtown Manhattan in NY.
Every so often at lunch time I go over there and ask some of the salespeoples real technical questions that only the person who made the product can answer! These so-called "experts" don't know jack-sh%#t!
There answers to me and so-called "advice" indicate they are under orders to sell you any d@mn thing is long as they gross a profit.
When ever I purchase n-e thing from there
i know what the f@#$k I want and don't need no "expert" trying to coax me to spend more money on a product I dont want,need or even heard of. F@#$K Sam Ash!
