Sail Away - the final mix

Tis truely(pun intended) one of the worst things I've heard in awhile. Just delete the drum tracks all together because you can't hear them except for the screeching high hats. Bass is off time most of the time. Guitar sounds like a 3 year old was playing it. And the vocals, Jesus where to start. Maybe practice dynamics a bit. The only thing that seems to come through is the whining/howling. I'm sure if it wasn't buried in reverb and so far back in the mix, we'd find an overuse of Auto-tune just like the other song you have posted.


Sorry to be so blunt but there is way too much stroking of undeserved egos in here.
 
Cool song guys:). True that was awesome...You got a lot of soul in your voice kiddo. I like it wet just the way it is. I would eq out some of the highs on the lead guitar and fatten up the bottom end......besides that it sounds great...glad i got to take a listen.

Nope, no caffeine for me. And I can play like a motherfucker. Unlike the majority of people here. Nice try though douche bag
 
i like the overall tone of this mix better than the original. ditto for what's been said about the drums. i'd also like to hear more guitar and keys in the mix. i like the funky feel of the bass. i also like the wet vocals...not too much verb at all for this style of music.

aside from the small issues with the mix, this is a good tune and everyone delivered a good performance. this piece has always been pretty far out...a good example of fusion with vocals. i like it.
 
Bad mix. I won't even get into specifics. The mix is just bad. Have someone else mix this. :(
 
Cripes, Randy, what did you do to my drums? They sound like they're coming through a tweeter. :mad:

I am sure you have just changed the course of these musicians life forever ...they will all immediately go burn their axes and start playing accordian....such ego...you are full of yourself...Talk about undeserved stroking...BUT...if that is the stroking YOU need...

I know several guitarist who can play like a double motherfucker...and don't have to even say they can...they just do it...what's your point...?:confused:
 
It's a nice tune, but the sound really isn't happening, I got to be honest. It probably would be better with no drums at all. I love the feel and True's voice is great as usual...But somebody's got to re-mix this.
 
But ya see RAMI>you are right about the mixing...Randy knows it too..that is the very point..it has been pointed out over and over...and the files have been sent to two people for remixing....you and the others are all being helpful with your honesty....all the asshole shit dawg came off with was uncalled for and his egotistic remark about the guitarists playing in the song was bullshit too....

Sorry True, I didn't realize I was repeating what has already been said a few times. I always listen and post before reading other people's opinion on a song.

Anyway, I wish people in the past were as honest with some of my suck-ful entries. Not saying this is suck-ful, but it needs help mix-wise, as has already been established.

hey RAMI..no apology..any of your thoughts are always good and always welkom...and appreciated..even if you reapeat...:D I do that myself a lot...I like honesty too..but it is obvious dawgs was not meant as a constructive criticism...

If you go through life with everybody telling you how great you are, why would you have any desire to improve.

Hello everybody - Happy Australia Day or Invasion day depending on how you view it.
My some of the critiques in this forum have degenerated into something less that expected.
What's the weather like in the Americas? Is the Democratic abuse party (how can you tear strips off a member of the same party in public while intending to take high office and WORK WITH that same person?) getting under skins?

Sorry Madz, but the hearing problem I'm having is obviously worse than I thought or I was fatigued.

I still think I did a better job of mixing the guitars as compared to the original disc that I sent you. Pop it and give it a listen for a comparison.

Does Ford Van and Jake write HangDawgs' reviews for him? :D:D:D
