Room Inside of a Room?

Hey everyone,

I am currently building a pre-production studio in an unfinished basement. A lot of websites were saying Room Inside of a Room (RIOAR) is the best audio solution. Essentially my budget is limited to about $15,000. Online they were saying having too cinderblock walls insulated and soundproofed between ten inches of dead space for RIOAR was the best solution.

Looking to make this thing almost completely sound proofed... how should I do this?

what instruments are you going to record ?
how close is the nearest house or are you trying to isolate it from the rest of the house ?
what room is above the cellar ?

Funnilly enough, I had been toying with the idea of starting a thread on this product. I've been reading up on it for about 7 years and although I have neither the space nor the money for one, I am interested in what some of the guys that post to this forum think of the Esmono room, at least in principle. Personally, I'm currently cheerfully ignorant.

Ok. How sound proof do you really need? How loud will you get and how quiet do you need it to be on the other side of the walls? In decibels.

Once I have that data, I can help you determine the best way to achieve a certain isolation rating.

A drawing of the available space with dimensions would be extremely helpful.
