Room Full of Strangers

Wanna know how YOUR voice is supposed to sound? Just listen to any one of your songs. You have something that not many people have. A unique voice. It stands out and is just as easily recognizable as Ian Gillan's, Janis Joplin's, Alice Cooper's and on and on. It is an incredible gift to have.

I love your stuff, Rami. You constantly and consistently blow me away with your productions. Your bass tone is and has been, my goal ever since I heard your first song. I still don't have it. It always sits perfectly in the mix and you can hear every note. You can talk about your signal chain and plugs and such but I know you are holding something back. It's like the secret family recipe that my mother handed down to me. Problem is, she NEVER told me what the secret was so it never turns out like hers.

Love the song. There are a couple of places that things seem to meld together a little too much but they come and go so quickly that it is hard to pinpoint just where and when it happens! Your voice sounds good when it is IN the mix instead of ON TOP of the mix. That's why they call it a 'mix.'

Keep on keeping on! Love ya, Brother!
Wow man! Long time no see, buddy. I hope everything's good with you.

Thanx a lot for all that. I can guarantee you that I have no secrets as far as my bass sound or any other part of my recordings. What I described above is all there is to it. I think I happen to have a great bass, that's probably the only "secret".

Thanx a lot ofr the comments. Hope to see you around more often.

It really sounds great!

The volume and clarity you're getting bamboozles me. I've no idea how you've got it so loud and clear.

Good job man!

Hey, Dude! Yeah, I pop in every once in awhile, usually when I want to find out how to mix properly. I just listen to your songs and try to learn something. ;)

Do you use both pickups? One? A blend? I'm actually about to pick up a new bass because this old Ibeenhad is just that, old! I have my eye on a Yamaha TRBX304 that I saw last week when I took a trip to the "local" Guitar Center, which is 3 hours from me - ONE WAY!

I turn all the knobs in the same direction, all the way. So, I'm pretty sure that means both pick-ups are on.

Dude, do you have electricity where you are? :D

Had to come back for another listen. Just picked up on the variation in the last chorus. That is a very nice touch, man.

This one is up there for me. I really dig it. Your tunes have a great balance of classic feel and sensibilities meshed with modern ideas.

Do another one.

I think the performance and mix is solid, as always. Good song as well, love the guitar riff, and the tone sounds great to me.

I think I always say this, but I could use a little more kick and snare. Like it needs more meat (compression? eq?). Mid and late song the snare is more present, but I think it could use more boom. Same for the kick, I hear the beater smack fine through the song but it could use some low end woof.

Fine job all in all, always good to hear an original from you.

Oh, we've had electricity here for a couple of years now. We just got our very FIRST one-way street in March. People like it so much there's even talk now of another one going the other way. :D

Thanx a lot, Mr. Pui. :D

I always have room for more kik and snare. I'm now in the "I can't listen to this shitty song any more" stage. I'll get back to it in a few weeks and make adjustments. Thanx buddy.

Man, I keep missing posts. I'm really sorry, Phil. Didn't mean to ignore you. Not the first post I miss in this thread. Thanx for the compliment, I really do appreciate it.

Sorry I'm late and I didn't read the rest of comments.

I thought the tone on things sounded good. I thought, for the most part, the levels on things were good. Except I thought the bass was too loud. Either that or it had a too rumbly low end. Compare it to a pro mix and see if you agree. There may just be some boomy frequency that needs a little notch.

But other than that I thought it was real good.

Love the drum sound.

I agree with TripleM the bass is just a tad on the loud side, but tone/width of the bass is amazing. Other than that everything sounded really, really nice man. Great job!

I haven't read any of the other comments yet. It's sounds very good to me. Killer guitar tones and organ tones.the drums are great as usual. All the performances are great. I really like this song and the groove is defintely there .
Fantastic recording RAMI!

I don't care that this is 4 weeks old. I wanted to hear the new mix, and I'm glad I sought it out. Great stuff, man. Mix is perfect. Don't change a thing. Compared to the original, well... There is no comparison. Sounds awesome.

Well... If I had a nit, it'd be that the cymbals are spread at like 100% R/L. I'd pull em' in a bit so they sound more like they're "with" the kit. but dude... That's all I got, and I don't even think it's a nit. It's just me being a jerk because this mix rocks so hard, and I wish I could mix like this.

Great job. :thumbs up:
