Thanks Seanmorse79
I didn't sell my VS yet; mostly because I really can't get very much for it and the music equipment swap meet only happens once every three months here in Honolulu, Hawaii and I missed the last one.
But in the back of my mind I always wondered about the SCSI port because it should be harddisk to harddisk so the whole session should be transferred at once. Good tip on optimizing.
Anyway, I did a couple of searches of the VS forum on SCSI tranfers but couldn't find anything. I may not have been searching correctly.
I have Sound Forge 5 and I have Vegas so all I need is a SCSI drive. Then I can use the VS to back up my Mackie SDR 24/96 recordings. From my Mackie 24-8 bus miser, I send 24 tracks via the direct outs to the Mackie SDR. And from the 8 bus on the mixer, I can send 8 tracks to the VS. But in the past, I didn't know how to get the 8 tracks from the VS to the PC.
I'm recording a 1/2 TV game show that's done in a live format before a studio audience so having a back-up 8 track recording on the VS is a REALLY, REALLY good thing to have.
Thanks, again Seanmorse79
