Hi there folks,

Any advice appreciated on the following....

I've got Cubase SX (PC), one of those lil' Behringer Mxrs, a SM 58 and am thinking of getting the Tascam USB 122 and a Rode NT3.

I have been and am keen to get further into miking guitar and bass cabs and recoding vocals. Oh yeah, and some acoustic guitar.

Whaddya think?

Cheers, GBV

You could do much better than the Behringer mixer, look into a yamaha one for a similar price. A 58 will be fine for guitar cabs, but a 57 would make more sence. The 58 or 57 wont have the low end response for a bass cab really, on a budget id just DI that. The NT3 is a nice mic, i like them as overheads, high hats etc, but for acoustic guitar and vocals you'd be better off with a LDC, somthink like an NT1 for about the same price.

Hope that helps a bit

The NT1 is a very bright mic, will be perfect for most vocals and acoustic. Pretty cheap to for how good it can sound.
