I spent the day recording my stepson, who ordinarily sounds terrible on anything but my AT4033. Today he had a bad cold, and I sub the NT1000. Result? Very useable vocals. Crisp, distinct, and intelligible, where the 4033 made him sound muffled.

This is an object lesson why one mic doesn't fit all.

Very true. Well it's between the Bluebird or AT3060.
I just don't want to make a bad choice and end up regretting it. That one engineer/CEO guy said the AT3060 would give me that upfront warmness, so I'ma go with that. I heard this one kid with the baby bottle and his vocals were extremely tiny, probably because he doesn't know how to EQ, but that discouraged me.
