NTK Takes A Beating...

I bought the NTK this week at work after taking it home to try for a few days. I used it on a few different voices as well as AC GTR and was pretty happy. I liked the silky top and the tube adds alot of warmth without driving up the selfnoise. I'm really impressed with the construction. This mic feels like a tank and takes a beating. I know...mine did a nose dive onto a hard wood floor. Bent the screen a bit which I fixed but nothing else was harmed. I had a tech at the shop test it all out for me. I think I'll be investing in a heavier duty counter weight stand...lol. Just remember to keep the mic balanced properly on a regular stand.

So in the end I found a reasonably priced mic with a big sound. My goal is to get a pair of 87i's and a pair of 414's but till then...the NTK will hold me over.

RODENT K

I just got back from hearing this mic for the 1st time, and I'm quite impressed.Big,crisp, warm sound, and a great price. It's on my short list after using the NT1 for 2 years as my next upgrade.BTW I intentionally connected the letters of the mic's name for those who haven't gotten Rode's little joke yet.

The NTK is one of the best mics I've used. I too have a NT-1, and it is nowhere near the same league as the NTK. I am probably getting myself a NT3 on Thursday. It is cheaper than an AKG C1000 S, and I've heard that it is a significantly better mic. This will probably be my last GAS attack before Xmas.:)

Hey MK, ever danced beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free? ;-)

Yep!

"let us forget about today until tomorrow..."

My NT3 oughta be in the house either tomorrow or Thursday. Can't wait to mic my Taylor with it and my NTK.

:)
