Rode NT1 or Studio Projects C1

I haven't touched my NT-1since I got the AT4033. The difference was way to noticable to even think of going back.

Hmm... Maybe I'll sell the NT-1. I better plug it up again and a few more times...

Enough people talk about the C1's and rest of the Studio Project line to make me think they are worth check out. A SP mic is probably gonna be next whenever I'm mic shopping again.

Proximity is a big issue with Omni as low end rolls off quite a bit from distance, but it is a very useful pattern for acoustics.
You meant figure eight, not omni, I guess? :)

Not a bad choice at all. In our shop we let people demo the C1 vs. the NT1 and the C1 wins every time. Well, actually, one guy chose the NT1 this past weekend, but he was the same person that told me he thought the movies "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" sucked, so what does he know? :)

Seriously, the C3 has become one of my favorite mics. I even use it on snare and guitar a great deal, as well as vocals. You can't possibly go wrong with one IMO. If anyplace local to you has one, go check them out. You'll be impressed.

I have an NT1 myself, and I would rather use a B1 or a B3. Maybe the new NT1-A will be better, but the NT1 was always a very hard and harsh mic to use. I know RODE can do better than that.

Either way, we always appreciate all the support you guys give us. There are lots of very good mics out there, with more coming to the table, so we have to keep on our toes.
