Hi. I have a kinda stupid question I guess. You know I wanted to make it sound as though I was standing outdoors singing, so I added a outdoorspace or mountain echo or something in Logic.

That didnt do the trick. I wanted the sound of someone standing on a open field singing. I guess you wont get much reflections then? Yet neither it wouldnt be completely dry in an open field? Anyone know how to make that one? I use Pro tools, and dont like using d-verb. Any suggestions please?

Thanks, Peter

PS: sry about the poor english

I wanted to install IR-1 Native bundle (demo) just to try it out. So I`ve recieved the ilok key and everything. But does anyone know exactly how many plugins I have authorized? (as it is named "bundle", I couldnt see any info about that) And what installer to use, like v6 essential or something?

Seems kinda messy if I only like to try one plugin, am I right?

Yeah, that's a tough one logic wise. One big factor and just winging it here, depending on how far away this person is singing is size perspective, + perhaps lack of reflections. I'd expect first off is micing far enough away- don't think 'close is going to get it, then the interesting thing is, even if the room is very dead, not adding reinforcement/reflections, what is the sound difference of that vs. outside?
(As in, beats me.:o :) All I get when I 'visualize' this- the difference- is it's the ambient noises surrounding the source that says it, not reflections from the source(?)
We need some film/ Foley guys?

Maybe it would be worth it to try a longer delay.

You won't hear many early reflections outside, but if you make enough noise you'll hear an echo in the distance. Try a long delay without the reverb and see if that makes any difference.

And as Mixsit said, you probably shouldn't be trying to track this with close miking. Try backing off the mic and maybe even putting some sound absorption around the mic so it doesn't pick up the room reflections as much.

Good luck!

You can also bring a microphone outside and do the real thing...

Thank you very much for your comments! I like challenges, so I`ll be trying your suggestion with the delay etc before going outside. :) Simply using a reverb (IR1) didn`t seem to be enough.
