Hey guys. A friend of mine just purchased a echo plex in good condition. Where would I find some good tape to use for this machine? I have RGMI SM911 1/4 Will that work?

Just search Echoplex on Ebay.I see brand new tape cartridges for these things alot.

I thought they took 1/4" tape. If it does you might be able to snag some off a reel and splice it to the right size.

It does take 1/4".
Years ago, I used to buy reels of 1/4" from Radio Shack and wind my own tapes. But it's probably easier to just buy a manufactured cartridge. Winding your own is kind of a pain in the A, but it works...

I have a Roland Space Echo and the tape that is in it is old and spliced in an amateur way. But, whenever it hits that splice, or certain parts of the tape, the echos sound like they are skipping a little bit while "choking". I put in a nice new tape and it didnt sound as magical, so i put the old one back in. Anomalies really bring things to life without having to try, sometimes.

Same reason I like analog synths. I used to splice my EP-3 tape with scotch tape! Hey, it worked...Similar threads
