Repairing Old Records

I stumbled across my moms stash of albums and 12 inches. but alot of them aren't in good condition.

Anyone know of a way to lessen skips from scratches. I've been thinking about getting a vinyl turntable and a cd table as i'm in sampling training.There are about 60 or so albums so i guess this sort of sold me on the thought.

yo, you might want to head over to a dj forum and get some advice. i heard from someone a while back that back in the day thier father used to use a chemical solution that was made for this. he would just wipe the record down with it. soundforge should be less of a headache since you already have it i believe.

I do have soundforge but that chemical soulution may be more what i need as i hope to improve the physical playing condition of the records.

Anyone else hear of a product of this type?
