I have bought a package of the SR850 headphones that comes with the C01 microphone. I plan on using the headphones with my
m-audio axiom mk2 keyboard and realised that this microphone is basically useless to me. My question is what can I do with this microphone and if there is any cheaper solution to use it than buying a $1000 audio interface which would be quite expensive?

Where are you looking at interfaces? There are plenty of them out there for under $200.00 and some $150.00 and under.

I'll admit I didn't do that much research on audio interfaces :\ and there are probably cheaper ones. But I was planning on buying one eventually anyway (sometime in the future) and was thinking of alternatives to buying a whole audio interface such as using some sort of cables that will turn my C01 into a C01U which can connect via usb. Also if you think there are some decent audio interfaces that would be worth buying for me can you recommend anything that would be beneficial for my midi keyboard and my microphone at the same time and is also not to expensive because I can't afford that much right now. I am quite new to this so forgive my newbieness and thank you for your help.

It's a much better idea to just get a $150 interface. You'll regret just getting some sort of XLR to USB converter. If those even exist... I dunno if they do.

tbf, as the others have said, if you were planning on getting an audio interface in the long run than it'd probably make much more sense to wait and pick one up than look into USB -> XLR cables etc. However, a cheapish solution in the short term (if you want to use the mic asap) would be something like the Blue Icicle. Saying that, i'd still very much suggest simply reading up on audio interfaces and picking one up as, although the Blue Icicle would work, it is missing some very useful features found on even some of the cheapest "standard" audio interfaces

I've got a horrible feeling the Lexicon unit doesn't have built in phantom power that'd be required to make the Samson CO1 work. The Maudio however would be great :)

Or you could simply sell the CO1 and get the total USB/Mic package at a further date.

I don't really know anyone who would buy a C01 mic and selling it on ebay or kijjiji for 20$ isnt going to be worth the hassle.

What are your opinions on this interface?
