recording with presonus firestudio tube

I just got the Presonus firestudio tube and I would like to record our live gigs. we are using the Yamaha Mg24/14fx and as you all may know, it does not have direct outs from every channel. I found some Hosa Doc-106 adapters that will convert the insert jack into a direct out. I'm planning on setting up our gear as usual and then with the adapters run all of them into the Firestudio. It has 16 inputs. is this a good way of doing this. Or is there another way to get a direct out from each channel on the yamaha. maybe a patch bay? and how would that work?

The Hosa Doc-106 adapters are fantastic I used them myself regularly recording various live gigs, i couple them to a 8 channel loom just to tidy things up. perfect for you exact requirements.
