anyone know of a good program that'll help out recording tapes to cd?

so far I've found LP Ripper, but I was wondering if there's anything else...

I need a program that'll break up the songs and let me title them...

~thanks

Any of the audio recording programs out there, (Cakewalk, Cubase, Cool Edit etc.) will do what you want. You connect the outputs of the tape machine to the stereo input on your PC's soundcard and record as audio tracks. You can then convert them to WAVE files and burn them onto a CD. I have done this using Cakewalk Pro 9 and am very pleased with the results.

Yo SHOCKING ONE:

You can also buy an Alesis Masterlink and let that box do all of the fiddling with a software package.

There are several, probably many, stand alone CD burners out there; however, my research has made me decide to go for the Masterlink.

Just another way of doing Redbook CD's.

The most inexpensive way would be to use a program like Cool Edit 2000 (around 70 bucks). I have cubase and cakewalk, but cool edit is much easier and the results are just as good. Go to cooledit.com and find out about it. You can also enhance the wave files (normalizing, reverb, noise reduction, etc.) and really do a professional sounding job. As far as masterlink goes....well, even if you wanted to spend the 1400 bucks, you'd still want to clean up the wave file. Believe me, I have a Tascam CDRW5000 and I still end up using my cool edit.

thanks, i appreciate the advice.

I found out I already have cakewalk, but I'll give cool edit a look before i get too deep...

thanks again all!
