Recording straight to a flash drive?

I know its a little naive, but i was just wondering: Does anyone record straight to a USB Flash Drive?

I am just curious if a hi-speed USB flash drive would transfer data at a comparable rate to an external hard drive as it'd seem like that would be a lot easier to lug around and you wouldn't have to find a power source for the drive.

A USB flash drive doesn't have to transfer data at a comparable rate to an external hard drive. It just has to be fast enough. I suspect it would be fast enough.

OK, I was curious about this so I took a long wave file I recently recorded at 24 bits 44.1K mono. I cut it down to 5 minutes and it was 40 MB. I copied it to my flash drive and it took less than 10 seconds. So you could easily record to a flash drive as long as you keep it to about 25 tracks at a time or less. :)
