I am recording too my computer

Mixer to computer ... I was told that a MicPre is normally plugged into whatever is doing the recording ... how would I hook up the mic pre so that it worked???

Quite easy, just connect mic in pre and pre in comp's line in.
Don't use comp's mic in, it IS a pre too, but is sucks and is mono.

My Mixer is plugged into the Mic In

...

1- Will I have to plug an instrument into the TubePre or will going through my mixer work with the TubePre working???
2- Do they make wires that are XLR to 1/8" without using connectors? If I would need connectors, I would be better of using 1/4" to 1/8"

No they don't. In addition to you having to change the connector size through two addapters, the XLR to 1/4" adapter has to change the impedance to match that of the input of the device.

I've never in my life seen an XLR to 1/8" adapter.

The correct sequence is mic cable with XLR end into the XLR jack on the pre-amp.

1/4" out from the pre-amp to your 1/8" mono adapter.

1/8" plug into the line-in on your sound card.

That's it.

ya i figured that ... but alright then ... so being I have a mixer I will just plug everything else into that, and then mic for vocals into TubePRE

thank you very much ...
