Other than the low end's inconsistency... Great

I'm going to fix the low end for my listening and add both to my general listening list. I wish they were longer

Thanks...

I like both tunes. I just think you have to work better the way you do your 'vibrato'. It will give you more identity. Think in how many ways you can play a single note ... It will also give you a more defined and clear sound ...
Just a guitar player opinion ... not against your playing or sound ... only an advice ...
By the way I use amplitube plug-in and I'm very sastified with what I get ... Maybe it's the best amp simulator ... better than revalver in my humble opinion ...

Bye.

I use a Pod, with the original 2.0 chip. I use it for bass too.

I got the latest upgrade chip, and to my ears it didn't sound as good so I took it out and put the 2.0 back in. Weird, ain't it!!

GT, I'm starting to get jelouse of you pod owners :p

Capitani, you correct, I do need to work on vibrato. I strugle with it. But I know it adds so much more.

Ok I remixed the song In Ruins as an experiment.

-cut some highs on the drums. didn't change the loud hihat yet. I'll need to reprogram my drum patterns to do that since I real time write the patterns by tapping on the pads. Sorry Sam! :)

-backed off on the over all reverb. hope the drums aren't to dry now.

-cut some of the lows on the ryth guitars to eliminate as much of the "woofines" as i could from the palm mutes. added some high end.

-repaned the ryth guits so they are no longer 100% hard right and left.

-made some volume adjustments to the lead tracks.

-boosted the bass a bit on the high end to try to get it to cut through a bit more.

Hope this sounds better!

Thank you to EVERYONE that responded and took the time to listen!! :)

here's the new one ( In Ruins 4-12-03)

I'll check these forums as soon as I can. Leaving for a weeks vacation in about 2 hrs. I hope you all like this version.

Thanks again!

wow, a lot of views, but no replies.....That's not a good thing

Anyway just was hoping sound wise this was on the right track. If most agree the remix sounds better I think I'll go ahead and rerecord the parts and put this to rest. :D

Any replies would be apreciated.

That's cuz it sux!

Just screwing with you. I haven't listened yet. I should get to it tonite.

much much better guitar sound!!! You eliminated the offensive woofiness.. I won't mention the highat since you did.. :) The bass sounds great too.. I think your there once you get the drum volumes adjusted.. nice sounding toms too.. This is going to be a good tune! Good job with the remix!!!!!!!

Hey that sounds real good to me :) just a little fatter would be nice.

Theres a post out here in the clinic of the new pod xt in the last week and its absolutely fantastic on clean guitar tones so Im sure Its even better on heavy stuff. If I was shoppin, which It seems I always am, Id go check out a pod XT. heres a link I think?

Sam........Thanks a bunch! I apreciate that!

I gotta ask ya 2 questions.......

Does my recording sound like it needs to be compresed or something?

Are all your drums on your tunes Fruity Loops or do you also have a drum machine?

I'm using the built in drum machine on my multi-track. I can't step edit patterns like I did on my old boss dr-550. I have to record each pattern real time. The hardest part about that is the velocity sesitive pads. I can change the sensitivity of each pad but can't adjust the volume of each individual drum sound once i have a finnished pattern. It's a limitation of the machine I guess. I thought my dr-550 was really flexible but I like the sounds I get now much better. Take the good with the bad I guess.

Just curious about fruity loops and how flexible it is and if I'd be able to get the same sort of sounds I get now.

I'm gonna try to finnish this tune and another new one I have in my head as soon as I get this damn ganglion cyst on my wrist treated or aspirated or somthin' ........can't wait lol. But at least I have a sound I'm shooting for now.

Thanks again Sab!

Bill,

Thx for the ears. I would like to get it a little thiker to. I have to experament a bit with layering tracks or combining different tones to thicken it up.

I'll check that pod thread to! thx!!

Re: Nathan Holly
How did you record the acoustic guitars on this song, what microphone?

Sounds really good...

Here is my music:

You talking to me? If so I use a Studio Projects C1 thru an Audiobuddy micpre.

And damn that remix sounds nice dude. For the type of song you got going there I don't think you want the guitars much fatter. I think I would start to mudd up the mix.
