I don't know why you guys are even bothering with Mr red chiclet. He obviously has the brain capacity of a spider monkey.

Thanks, Lt. Bob! I guess I'd rather re-record an instrument again if I didn't like the original sound or effects than to go synthesized later in order to try to get that magical, unique sound my amp, speakers, instrument, and good mic provide.

If you like the reverb on your real guitar, say, to begin with (or distortion), maybe it doesn't need to be changed later on. As far as other effects or editing techniques (EQ, panning, volume, automation, extra effrects like delay, etc.), all this can be done later on over your live instrumental track, anyway, even if it is using soft synths.

Or you could record your guitar "clean" through your amp speakers (via mic) and add computer effects later. But at least you get that rich depth, tonal clarity, and frequency range that only a real qaulity amp/speaker/guitar can provide.

Oh, I Forgot

You can also record several versions of your real instrument (and amp, speakers, mic) to begin with: one clean track, one with an effect (like reverb or distortion), each miked, and each sent from your out in the back of your amp to the interface. Then you have everything you need and you can still go with soft synth effects later without losing your audio recordings. Choose what's best and get rid of the other tracks.

One could then also create interesting effects: duplicate a track but pan them slightly off for a full sound, combine two different recorded tracks and blend them (bounce, I guess) as a single track for additional effects.

Apparently, they are thought of as the most intelligent of the New world monkeys, can make a wide variety of sounds and can get malaria.

Mind you, I can do the second and I've had malaria 3 times.

Smart they may be, but they suck at recording... too much happy slapping.

They've better at literature, artistically speaking. :D

What's with the troll questions Mikey? Lonely?
