I have some dubts about positioning my mic, a Sony stereo MS957S. This mic can place this 2 caps at 90° and 120° between them and I would like to know, also, at what high I have from ground I have to place it and how long I have to place it from the center of chorus to obtain best results.

Thank You.

-- 120°
-- From the ceiling if possible, or tall stand, 3 meters from the floor pointed down toward the chorus.
-- 2.5 to 4 meters in front of them

I'd also recommend using my totally sweet Dokorder 7100 that I don't actually have yet, but it would make the choir totally, like, rock.

Only one way to find the sweet spot in a church. Move that shit around until the heavens open and go "AAAAAHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. (Or use my totally kick ass Dokorder 7100000.)

Sergio. A technique that I found works well is to use a boundery layer microphone attached to a wall in the space. The signal from this mic is then mixed by blending with the left and right crossed pair to capture the ambience of the space. By carefull selection of the position of the microphone you get a picture of the room which removes the sterile feel that a simple cross stereo pair produces. A cheap microphone works well, and when used with a dummy head as the crossed pair produces very acceptable results.
