Hello,
I'm presently reconstructing my basement studio and I'd appreciate any advise, questions, experience, or stories similar to my plan...
My Studio is in my basement and occupies about 750 sqft. I am now in my second design of this area, in three years, and I'm fairly familiar with acoustic space issues such as modes, decay time, etc... but I'd like to solicit some advice on the flooring and the ceiling. Since I now do most of my recording solo, I no longer need a console/tracking room studio design and anyways,my console room was rather small (1300 cuft). So I'm moving my console into the tracking room and expanding the room size in length and effective height. I'm going for volume. My goal is to add an acoustically transparent ceiling at 9 ft that makes the room look finished but does not compromise the volume of an 11 ft high room. Secondly, I want to have both a carpeted section and a Hardwood flooring section.
Check here for pictures and additional details...
Any feedback or questions is appreciated... Thanks...
