I wouldn't have thought it did normally but somewhere it was put in my mind that he spelled his with an "e" . :o

Its "Cory"...

I answer to just about anything...Corey, Corry, Kory, Corny, Cary...Got a piece of mail that was for me but was addressed to "Tina"...my youngest seems to favor "Brada" at the moment.

MY bottom line is that I've gotten more into the mindset that when it comes to modding I just simply don't have the understanding and knowledge to really assess what is a worthwhile or necessary mod NOR the ability to really test the mods to see if they were effective or possibly even detrimental. Its all WAY over my head.

This exactly Cory. There are alot of differing opinions too, so it's either by experience or expertise, neither which I have. Even about audio grade caps there is differing opinions. But they have been tested for that so it is a plus I guess. I've done alot of recapping though, with great success, so I'm comfortable with that.

Steve, which series of caps were you looking at? I use the KT series. They're light blue in color, 105C caps that are "Audio Grade" for whatever that's worth. I just like the idea that they were designed (or are at least marketed heheh) with audio in mind and they are hi temp, come in lots of values and are affordable. A good balance/blend for me and Mouser carries them. They aren't the "MUSE" caps that people rave about, but those are 85C caps anyway...I DO use the MUSE caps for bipolar audio path stuff...those are the ES series and are indeed more limited in the values available. I tend to use the PW series for non-audio path stuff and in the power supplies...VZ series if I can't find the right value in a PW...bigger stuff or Axial stuff I'll tend to use Cornell-Dublier or Vishay caps...really big stuff I like the Mallory computer grade caps...

.

I actually found some I'm going to order. They are Elna America http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&itemSeq=90079922&uq=634185185247582822&cshift_ck=2082829540cs506115117&client_id=5042&cshift_ck=2082829540cs506115117&client_id=5042 the price is fair so I may as well use them rather than the standards. I'm might just recap some and see what happens, take it from there. I just bought standards for the power supply, same tolerance but some with higher voltage.

Another very good brand is Tecate. They have a large assortment.

The original owner was a friend and I believe his son has continued the business but not sure.

They make excellent caps.

Their large value film NP capacitors were superb and are in thousands of loudspeaker systems in use in the US.
