does any one no how to do this

thanxs all

The 428 is just a control surface- you may need to map the record button on the 428 with the record function in your software. If you search the help files for your software for "controller" or some such you'll probably find it.

Also, have you tried holding rec and hitting play?

Hey midwest,
I use the 428 with Cool Edit Pro 2, and they are compatible for this use. You have to assign your tracks in Cool Edit to the 428's inputs (Settings>Wav in, etc...), and then on the 428 you hold the Record toggle while hitting the Select toggles on your "Channel Strips".

Then you can hit Record on the 428's Transport, and you're recording. Similar procedure, I suppose, with other software apps and the US-428. Which are you using?

im using cool edit pro.2.1 right now but i would like to use my sonar 4 pro. edition.

tha only way i can rec is to use my mouse i wanna use my tascam 428

hey i got it thanks for tha help

whats does NULL stand for on tha 428

whats is tha INPUT MONITOR stand for on tha 428

the NULL "disconnects" the level faders, so you can move them without affecting the levels.......in certain situations this is desireable

the INPUT MONITOR allows you to use the interface somewhat like an anologue mixer....the level faders control the nput levels
