I recorded my first one at home with a pair of 2 SDC M-audio pulsar and EMU 0404. Faced 2 problems

1) After recording on 1 track, when i insert another track repaer closes completely. I tiried many times, but closes with a window error (Send error report).

2) I am getting this strange wave in the middle of recording (picture attached). What is this.

What's your computer set up? How much RAM? Are you shutting down everything else running in the background first?

I have a HP, 1 gb RAM, and I was not closing the wireless.

I have to get a new laptop just for recording, this one is work laptop.

What do you think the strange wave is.

I assume you mean that little down-spike at 1:52.000? Maybe a short/power issue (a/c in the room coming on, fluorescent light being turned on?) Are you plugged into AC or using battery? Was Reaper working ok before but now it is having this problem? Have you tried opening a new project and inserting tracks?

No probelm in sound. Only in the appearance.

I am plugged in to electricity. DId not have this problem before, the only ew thing I did was install the plug ins and a new version of internet explorer. I did try and insert new tracks in a new file, but the same results.

Power issue ....I will check and see if I can record in another computer with the same set up, it might be the computer.

I would try reinstalling Reaper. If you can't hear anything on that little spike, don't worry about it.

I got the fix for the closing of reaper.

The audio recorded track had a VST loaded on the Fx. I removed it and then it started opening tracks.

Thanks for the advice, I will see if I can change the latency settings and the strange wave goes away.
