Ok,

I have a Tascam 424. I would like to get rid of some hiss. When I switch the dbx on the hiss is gone but half of my music seems to go with it. What am I doing wrong? My music is mostly acoustic, does that make any difference? Should I use dbx when recording or mixing down or both? Are Dolby and dbx the same thing? How do they work?

I have Dolby on both of my tape decks and dbx on my fourtrack but I don't know much about them or how to use them properly. I would really appreciate some tutoring.

Thanks a bunch,

Tucci

I also need help on this. The same thing happens to me but our music isn't acoustic and I have a Tascam 488, If someone could help us it would be greatly appreciated.

What you should be doing is turning the DBX on while recording and keeping it on while you play back.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Can anyone explain how these noise reduction things work?

Thanks

Tucci
