I was doing a Google search on what the FCC allows, content wise, to be played on the radio. I'm mixing my album tracks and want to make "edited versions" of them as I go. I hear more cuss words on the radio than what I'm used to hearing on the radio durings morning shows like "bitch" and they say that can say that, but, does that go the same for an actual song? Dunno, anyone know where I can find a legit source of the FCC rules?

Thanks,

PM

I hear what you're saying...as far as what can and cannot be said on the airways has changed so much over the last 30 years or so. When I got my FCC Operator's and Technician's licence, it was stictly prohibited to use foul language on the airways. Now, it's common place.

My suggestion would be to send an email or make a phone call...the hold times can be a test to your will to get the answer but, put the question together and make it clear what you're wanting to know.

Best luck to you.

I learned you can say "f*ck you" but not "I want to f*ck" you after 10pm... from various radio interviews.

Otherwise known as "Safe harbour" times. I think.
