I bought two 4-space Raxxess rack panels and mounted my Johnson J-Station on one and my Alesis SR16 drum machine on the other.
It is really nice to have these things right "in my face".
I don't actually "play" the SR16 much so I wont be knocking my rack off the table while using it.

To attach these to the racks, I took out 2 rear panel screws out of each unit and took them to Lowe's to find screws with the same thread match at a 3/4 inch length. I then measured the distance between the screw holes on each unit to determine where the holes would need to be drilled into the rack panels to accomodate the mounting. Drilled the holes, attached the units, racked em up, made connections and off I went.

These can be seen on my Studio Stuff page at:

Hey that actually looks pretty cool.

Your old Monitor Ones make me think of my early 90's reel to reel studio! :o

Cute lil' setup you got there! Kudo's to your maximizing of space!!

I meant to say this a while ago - I really like your site, HSG. Kudos 2U :)

Thanks for the comments!

Thanks for the comments!
I like my M1's!
Primarily because they still work well and they are paid for.

I've been wanting to attach a Tascam 488 and a POD to the wall next to my bed.

Great idea Bob. You've inspired me to do the same thing.

rpe

ps: your little studio looks great - good job.

That's cool! I think I'm going to rack mount my lava lamp tonight! :D

Nice photos. Well done. I just velcro my SR-16 to the top panel of my rack.

Your studio looks great. I like what you did with the Alesis SR16. Have you seen this $35 SR16 Editor Program:

http://www.opticsilan.org/html/html.alesis/alesis.htm

It makes programming a breeze. You can assign any of the pads to any of the 4 outputs. You can change a entire drum setup with a click of a mouse.
This program is worth every penny.

Awesome Stuff

I really liked the NES piece!
I guess we can rackmount just about anything.
Thanks for the Alesis download.
That has been added to my favorites for future purchase.
I liked what the person from Sweden did with the POD too!
I was reading my American Musical Supply catalog yesterday and see that there is an amp company called ATOMIC that builds 1-12 and 2-12 cabinets with tube amplification that can accomodate the PODs and V-AMPs right into the enclosure.
I just run my J-Station directly into the return effects input of my Yamaha 100 watt Solid State Amp and it screams quite well. I've even bi-amped through the guitar amp and 160 watt bass amp.
Woof!
House shakes. Mother grab their children and run for safety....
I don't do it much since 9/11. :p

You've got a fantastic way to stabilize mic stands. I'm stealin' it as we speak...

Greate website, by the way, and ultra cool studio setup. Mine looks like a rats nest. :D .
