What would you do to the 1st track here? Sorry it's myspace, but I just want some quick, general mastering suggestions.
Cheers
Cheers. I don't really want to send it to anyone else to master, just a few tips on what I might do.It is a good mix, but there's alot I can do to make it really come alive and stand out.
It sounds like the low end is floating a round a bit and is not as focused as it could be. Are you using any widening or chorusing in the low end or bass? What would you do to the 1st track here? Sorry it's myspace, but I just want some quick, general mastering suggestions.

Nothing, just comp'd and EQ'd bass guitar and kick.It sounds like the low end is floating a round a bit and is not as focused as it could be. Are you using any widening or chorusing in the low end or bass?
did you record that into pro tools? let me take a shot at trying to make it sound right for you, and if you didn't record into pro tools, bounce your track with no effects and optimize the levels back to normal and let me try it out.
Nah, I recorded in Reaper. I'm quite happy with the mix, just wanting advice on mastering.did you record that into pro tools? let me take a shot at trying to make it sound right for you, and if you didn't record into pro tools, bounce your track with no effects and optimize the levels back to normal and let me try it out.
Haha the second song was recorded really lofi. Guitar and Vocals with 1 Naiant X-Q and the violin with a pair of X-Qs. I like it thoughIf your good with the mix, maybe you good try an M/S technique for mastering.
When I quickly checked out the track via myspace, I checked it in mono and the focus seemed to improve quiet a bit. Maybe hp the bass and see if that clears anything up. Mids seemed to dominate but there were still a little cloudy.
I would try to get more definition.
I was liking the second song that you had on your MS player... not a full band but done very well.
I would maybe start by trying to clean up the low end. It would be easier to tame the bass in the mix and give a little more room for the kick. $.02So mid-side mastering, what kind of things do you suggest I do?
