Although I dont use my recording gear from my studio to play out with, I do still have items from my old light and sound production company I can use if needed from time to time.

Tonight my frontman in our band wants to use a wireless mic system I have. It is an Audio Technica ATW-R11 system.

Anyway, here is the problem I have, and hopefully someone can answer. I lost (or one of the hired gun sound companys kept) the power supply adapter for the receiver for this wireless mic system. I went to Audio Technice's site to research getting a replacement, but they no longer have info on that older unit.

The receiver says on the back, that the power input jack requires a
12V ~ 18V 350mA power supply.

Does this mean I MUST get this exact adapter, or as long as its 12V and exceeds 350mA will that adapter work??

Amoung the many power adapters I have collected over the years, I have one that is 12V 500mA. Can I use this one or will the higher Ma rating damage something in the receiver?? And what does 12V ~ 18V exactly mean? (is it 12Volt or 18Volt or can it do both???)

I dont quite understand the theory behind all these different adapters and their different mA ratings etc etc>?>? You would think their would be an industry standard (but then again i am not an electrician so what do I know?)!

If I can get an answer before tonights New Years Eve event it would be appreciated.

Thanks and to everyone Have a Safe and Happy New Year!! :D

Radio Shack will have a "universal" adapter that will allow you to choose the settings and the plug.
