Right. The points you make on the song are fine, and I agree. If you note my posts mentioning that I'd over compressed the vocal and the original saying they weren't strong vocals you'd know that.
BUT. And it's a big but.

No mate. This is someone making a song by himself for himself. This is something I did to keep a record of a song my band and I decided we didn't want to play.
"You put out a far from finished product (by your own admission) and asked for opinions, then got defensive when the opinions came."
Again wrong. I am more than fine with opinions which came my way, but not HOW they were phrased, as I've pointed out repeatedly. Being courteous costs nothing.
"Now, you can kill the messenger, or, you can say, "Yup, there is a lot of suck going on in this". If you can't hear that, then you have other issues to attend to, and maybe a music career isn't in your near future."
Don't tell me about my future in music after listening to a rough I recorded alone in about 30 minutes.
"Any asswipe A&R guy wouldn't take the time, and you submitting something this horrid sounding to an "industry person" would have been the quick way to never hearing from that person again!"
Would I ever have submitted this to an A+R person? No. Don't be fucking stupid. I have professional recordings done in a studio with my band. Me attempting to mix and record myself playing everything is something I do for fun and something I intend to improve on.

You'll note if you listen again, I did that. You'll also note I did it before you even mentioned it and finally, you'll note I said on my second post in this thread that I'd over compressed the vocals. My advice to you is read a whole post thoroughly instead of reading bits and posting.

The bass is out of control, the intonation is way off. The guitars often seem to compete with each other and neither one wins. Especially the guitar on the left. The lead vocals are too quiet in most parts and the backup vocals are too loud. And again the ending doesn’t fit in with the emotion of the rest of the song .

I know how it feels to get your dalings killed.
I`m`gonna ignore what this thread lead to and focus on the song.
I can see (i think) what you were aiming for here.
It is extremely hard to get separation on guitarrs when you whant that muddy Lanois sound, you need to work on the frq, pan and room placement (reverb)
I dont think the fuzzzzzy guitarrs work in a song like this, try something more tubedistortionish. Since you dont have any drums i think you need a more steady bass to move the song forward.
Maby a shaker to keep the beat.Ok the singing isnt your best for sure, i know you can do better. On the lead vokal cut everything below 100hz on the backup even more and keep them quieter than the lead they are only for backup not to take control.
Thats it. Rekommend a thick skin in the future ;-)
