Purchased a Delta OmniStudio that came with bundle versions of Delta Live and Reason Adapted. After reading up on them on their websites it seems like to some degree they do the same basic thing. This is for my 13-year old son, who wants to record his band and mix songs he can post on their website. Anyone out there who can explain the differences between the two, whether it makes sense to install both, or whether neither of these are good for what I'm looking for? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Install both, I don't see why there would be any conflicts.

Dad,

The problem with the bundled software is that it is... uh... castrated. For example, Ableton Live (actually Ableton Live Delta) only allows you to use one VST plugin, only supports 10 in and 2 out, etc..

I strongly suggest that you download a copy of Mackie Tracktion for free (through 12/31). Easy to use, no constraints, and a solid launching pad. He most likely will outgrow it but it will be a better tool than the hobbled software that you got with the hardware.

Move fast. Luck.
