Question about "send and return" on EFX processors

I agree with the above... try coming back to a discrete channel, sounds like you may have your send and return looped.

I did go through this with a bit more attention and noticed that the manual specifies unbalanced connections and you display a balanced patch cord... though I can't figure how that would contribute to the symptoms you're experiencing

Well,..
I was in N.Y.C. all day today,...and I ran across some "send and return" cables at $5.00 a cable,...which is really good compared to the prices here in Pa. ($15.00) a cable.
Picked up 4 of 'em, and when I got back home, hooked everything up (only 4 processors)...and now everything is fine.

But,..

I did still run into the feedback problem...
and I looked over Lt. Bob's post after,.. and I did have a couple buttons depressed that shouldn't have been. :o:eek::o
So now,..Everything is fine, and I appreciate everyone's help.

Like I said before in an earlier post...I've hooked my processors straight up to my instruments and then into the mixer, but never in a send / return loop...
I have inserted them in their own channels before with results, but never with the option that my M-2600 has of being able to send the effects to any spontaneous channels that I would like to.
Thanks again for everyone's help.:D

Those cables you have there are fine for the inserts using a compressor or other dynamics processing, but did you ever get the effects send/return problem fixed?

I don't think it should have mattered what buttons you have depressed to route it. I can't think of any reason why you'd have a feedback loop with the box(es) hooked up as you said they were.

if you have it routed in a way that brings the fx signal back to its' own input then you have a loop and it's gonna feedback.
happens all the time.

good to hear ...... now you're set up and ready for ........... the next problem!

:D

and those are cables at a nice price that you're gonna always have a use for so you didn't waste any money buying them.
Cool.

:)

Well yes, except that I thought he had the in's and out's wired correctly from his posts earlier this morning.

but you can route stuff to different places with buttons too, and not only by where you plug it.
I have all my stuff hooked up correctly but if I take the aux send from one of my effects buses and send it to a channel which I also have going to the same fx, for example, you're gonna have a loop. That's just an off the top of my head example and may or may not apply specifically to his situation but it's something like that.

That's interesting. I've never run into that situation before. I'll have to see if I can set that up on my console as an example.
