How about CS3, NS2? I like the DS2, it has two modes but I do find I use it more for chords and rock rhythm. It has quite a transparent sound and more top end than you'd think which is good.

You sure as hell would hope that their distortion pedals are analogue!
Can pretty much tell which Boss pedals are digital by the word 'digital' in the name. Theose being the DD-3, DD-6, DD-7 (all digital delays...except the DD-7 has analogue and digital delay) and the RV-5 (digital reverb). That said, I'm not sure about the pitch shifters.

All the Boss modulation/time based effects in current production are digital.

The signal passing through all the above devices is analog. The device controls may be controlled by digital algorthims , but unless there is AD/DA conversion going on, they are analog.

I think he meant it as in the "digital delay" versus "analog delay" kind of thing. Or ... then again, he was asking about distortion pedals as well, so ... I'm not sure exactly what he means.
Anyway, there are very few analog delays made today, and if they are analog, the manufacturer will certainly let you know it. The only way they're made is by (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) using magnetic tape (or some kind of disc or drum) or by using a BBD (bucket brigade delay circuit)

Basically I'm having you guys confirm that Boss distortion pedals (and their other tone/gain shaping units) aren't digital in the same manner as modern modellers are (Line 6, Pod, etc)

Hey Paul, if you looked inside an analog distortion pedal you will most likely see IC chips like op-amps or maybe J-fets to simulate more of a tube sound. My old Big Muff from the 70's has discrete transistors overdriven for the fuzz function.
The digital types will use a micro-processor chip for its effects. And likely will have a menu you get to scroll through for the parameters.
