Question about digital tape

For remote recording I'm thinking about ADAT or something along the lines of a Tascam DA88. I've used 1/4" tape, cassette tape, and a computer hard drive for recording but never digital tape. Can you re-use digital tape without worrying about traces of previous usage coming thru?

Pretty much. I've made MULTIPLE passes on tapes and always total erasure of what was underneath. But I wouldn't recycle tapes if that's what you mean. After all it is tape and will shed eventually with heavy re-use.

Thanks. What's your max number of passes? And what about tape stretch? Does it happen and to what effect?
