Q: aux sends on the Mackie mixers

When you send a signal through the aux sends, does it still go through the pre's of that channel strip?

So for example, I have a 1202 VLZ Pro: if I plug in a mic into channel 1 (with the XDR pre's) and then send some of that signal to Aux 1 (pre), then hook up the Aux 1 send to my A/D interface, am I making use of the Mackie pre?

Let me know if I'm not being clear..

Since the mic preamp is the first thing in the chain you have to 'use it'. With mics you have to use some type of preamp anyway.
