Putting this song together for my GF

Hey guys tell me what u think of it, like the over all mood and quality of the song. This is only about 1 minute of the 3 minute song. I know Ballads are not really in but i still love them hehe. I still gotta put in the vocals but I will work on that later. I did this in FLstudio.. I hope my gf will love the finished product. BTW, i am still newbie at all this homerecording stuff. I am still experimenting on using my mic that i bought (Studioprojects B1 with a Berhinger Preamp )
 
Well, sounds ok. The kick seems a bit late in a few spots but the sounds are kind of mellow.
The song doesn't seem to go anywhere musically but I guess the lyrics could make some sense of that.
 
Yeah i think i should change the wav file i used for the kick, cause its delayed. The "kick" doesnt come in until like 0.2 seconds of the file so its kinda delayed with the rest of the song after each beat

Have to agree with Jake on this one, the kick got a bit distracting. Gotta fix that timing issue to make this one work.

Nice playing and will be good to hear this with the lyrics on it. Since this is only 1 minute of the song, it is kind of hard to comment on the song in general since I'm not sure where it is going. If you are just looking for comments on the sound, it sounds good (except for that kick) music wise. Just fix the timing issue, slap some lyrics on there, and add the next musical parts and I can give a better critique on the song in general.

For a start, it is not bad. Just needs a bit of tweaking.

if you dont have a better sounding kick sample, id scrap it alltogether.......

everything else you have going definitely sounds good.....very good start.......

Interesting piece of music so far. I find the intro's keyboard part a little too low in the mix. It sounds almost subliminal at that level and it is a weird part to accompany a nice acoustic guitar, (keyboard pad), that is playing happily there.

I am assuming the words will be a little on the twisted side to go along with this music that is sending out mixed messages? I hope they will be, at least!:D

The kick, well yes. It is a little disturbing in its "unique" timing.

Otherwise, so far, so good!
