The back of the pedal may not be the best place for an (actually ultraviolet) LED, because you can't see whether it's on when you're standing over the pedal, but you can see it when you're back a bit. That's really all I needed it for - to have a quick visual about whether it's still on. I ran the (shrinkwrapped) leads of the LED hard left and right, so you can still fit a battery in it. The light works with either an external power supply or a battery - I wasn't sure about whether it would.

I followed these instructions: Budda Bud-Wah LED mod tutorial (Resurrected!) - Page 2 - The Gear Page

My pedal had a DPDT (6 pin) switch, so I had to swap it out for a 3PDT (9 pin) switch, as shown in those pictures.

That's what DIY/modding is all about. Getting gear to work just how you want it to!

Note about LED I consumption especially for battery kit.

Buy a "lucky bag" e.g. Maplins and go thru them with a PP3 and 100k pot (and a series 1k!)

You will find a few diodes that will give enough light at amazingly low currents.

I found about 3% of a bag that were more than bright enough* in a normally illuminated living room for just 220microamps! This was for indicaters on a phantom power source and I wanted to "rob" as little as possible from the mic channels.

*I find much equipment has needlessly bright LEDs?

Dave.
