I will think on it, and maybe we can work something out. You could maybe mix down to 2 track on a computer and send me the track. I would love to work with somebody, as my previous drummer was not awe inspiring. Check it out at

The drummer for Fugazi (Brendan, I believe).

You are correct, Brendan Canty is his name. He really is a great drummer.

Brenda Canty was also in Rites of Spring, with Guy Piccioto (also of Fugazi now). You should all check out their album. Dischord records put out a complete discography and it is really good.

if nofx is punk then we are truly in trouble

That dude from Adrenaline OD, what a drummer!!!! holy crap
the guy in dayglow abortions
SOD ? yeah he was in anthrax but that was certainly a punk album right ?

Scotty Travis in Fight's War of Words ( yeah so, rob halford sang but that album was punk by any definition )

Paul Cook of the Pistols was a decent drummer at best but his style suited the bands anarchistic sound brilliantly. Whoever said the pistols couldn't play was talking out of their arse, Sid excepted of course!

Well listen up...blaaaaap. They totally sucked.

The misfits return was a marketing ploy, how can you claim a comeback sans lead singer?

I'll echo the talent of Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, he's truly amazing to my ears.

The misfits never stopped playing when Glenn left, but they couldn't do too much because he hit them with a lawsuit claiming that he owned the name. Doyle and he were the only original members. In the end, Doyle won and they started touring again. I liked their older stuff better, though.

how can you forget josh freese of the vandals? he's one of the best punk rock drummer's in the business. also tre cool is a good drummer considering the fact that he is completely self taught from when he joined the lookouts at age 12.

sorry, i like punk rock

oh yeah, i forgot about Josh Freese....he has some credentials including:

Vandals (almost always w/ the vandals)
Perfect Circle (played on the cd, not sure if he toured)
Good Charlotte (plays on the new cd)
No Doubt (played some shows when adrian couldn't make it)
Moth (played on Moth's Virgin records debut cd)

oh, and the "new" guns n' roses, devo, indigo girls, man...the list goes on

I totally agree that punk music is often left aside from music "conaisseurs"
It evolved a lot since the sex pistols....

anyway.. The drummers from NOFX and Lag wagons are great
..that guy from nofx really is a machine..!

Also Strung out is my drummers favorite band

Ahhhhh, someone who knows the Dischord library. IMO, many of the drummers and bands of this punk lineage are notable. Jeff Nelson (of Minor Threat and 3), the drummer for Dag Nasty (Colin Sears maybe?), Soul Side.....

Yes, and whoever mentioned Bad Brains. Right on! The original Rasta Rock!

bing

Not quite punk I know, but the drummer from New Found Glory is pretty good.
I also saw a band called RX Bandits (emo-ska-punk). Their drummer is incredible. New Found Glories drummer had a broken arm so he filled in with two hours notice!
That is pretty impressive..........
Is there many people on this board that record punk rock?
I myself record mainly ska and punk. Anyone else?

There's no such thing as Punk Rock right now. The sooner everyone forgets about it, the sooner it will come back. NOFX scribbled its phone number on a bathroom stall, Blink 182 turned it gay, Lagwagon dressed it up like a fukin bitch, and Green Day fucked it up the butt on national television. Punk Dead!

Die sick punk, die. Now come back to life. Whatever happened to the days when someone said punk and you could not be sure what they were talking about? It's all too damn formulae in it fer me ole bonez. Fuck punk, Strangle it to death...we're laughing at it all now. It's good fuel. Gotta go dup dee doo doop ee doo..

DO SOMETHING NEW :)

oh its alive and kicking, its just called " doom metal " now...separating the wheat from the chaff is hard tho, cuz half of it is " emo death metal ", some is dressed up vampire technoweenies and out of the small fraction thats left, are good ol' punk rock lyrics and attitude...and I can handle almost 2 minutes of it in a row

Technoweenies! HAHAHAHAHHAAHa! Thats halarious. Well, It's good to know it's still out there.
