So, this song was playing and my daughter heard it a few times and then started making her own version of the song. I basically HAD to record it and use her lyrics. I tried to get her to sing, but she refused.

I approached this song by trying to do a sound-alike, as close as I could get it. There were several parts I just couldn't seem to figure out (the little spacey loopy thing that's happening in the beginning). I didn't do the whistling section, but I did a decent job on the drums, bass, and basic guitar thingy.

I tried to get the vocal effects close...

hahaha it sounds very close to the original, I enjoyed it.
 
Thanks, Freya! I really did try. I basically played the drums for about 8 measures and then made a loop of best on time beats. Same with the bass, I think. I got that basic riff down and then cut and paste. I added electric to double the bass and then I did a bunch of vocal tracks on the chorus. Lots of reverb. :)
 
I really like your version and I thought you did a fantastic job with the drums and the bass. I wasn't crazy about the vocals on the verses (also thought they were a little too loud) but I don't really like the vocals in the original but the chorus vocals were great. Very entertaining and I loved the voice samples you used from the movie. Great Job! Now to finish my band's version.
