Change mics. I have dark mics and bright mics depending upon the vocalist. Helps out with the s thing.
But over all, the royer is too bright and edgy on your vocal. It is not an Ssssss thing. Just an overall character thing.
I almost thought you used a Rode Mic on the vocal it was so bright. (Of course I like the Rode mics on specific things, but over all I have found them to be unnaturally bright. If you look at the plots, they tend to boost everything above 10k.)
From listening to your vox, I think the baby Bottle might be a little more mellow on your vocal. It's a little darker than a U87. I am not keen on the royers sound on stuff (dont have one.) But I Might go get one now.

Thanks for reviewing mine.bennychico11 said:Sorry benny ive been busy as hell the last couple a days man, but ive been meaning to review yours and rudalicious' posts.
I listened to your mix, and immediatly got the impression that there was some pumping going on in the guitars compression. And i agree with nik about the cymbals being a tad too loud.
On the bright side..
I really dug how you boosted the toms and the change when the tom roll came in!
And your mix had a nice fullness to it as well.
About the chord yeah youre right! It should be Minor and i stroked that one string and it sorta geeked it huh?
But i drilled it in one take so i just let it be quirky.
Good job over all!
See ya at the pt forum!
Thanks for listening! It's funny how the parts I like other people don't. hahaha, like the cymbals I liked how they clashed loud....i thought it kind of built the song up. i'll take another listen and see if I can hear the compressor on the guitars. i think my ears still need more listening time to hear things like that. I kept trying to get the toms to ring out more...i felt they needed more of a strong hollow sound. especially since the are hardly featured in this tune.
Anyway, thanks for doing this for us xfinsterx. I had fun and I'm sure everyone else did. Good playing too...i actually enjoyed the song. And thanks for joining our PT forum!!!
