From my perspective the vox you added in the intro dont sound good, sounds "mickey mouse cheesy".

The guitars are buried in the section at :34.

I like what you did with the bass at :48.

The vocals are nicely mixed for the first verse IMO.

The way you made the lyrics at 1:28 trail...i dont like that so much.
Reason being is it enabled you obscure the chorus vox, which you completely did by turning them into background vox. That part is "the hook" bro, its gotta shine!

The death vox coming outa my left speaker at 1:43....thats distracting from the guitars and detracting from the vox there.

Also there are too many effect on the chorus vox....further obscuring them.

Again nice vox blend at 2:26.

The distorted phone vox are cool on the end screams.
However, the hard panning is distracting as fuck.

I like the intro BTW too, nice one Bleyrad.

Overall your mix has a slightly over-trebley tone to it as well.

First off, the vox.
Mark? you hear that one vox part that dosent match the others?
The one that sounds like the lead part?
Take that out, it dosent belong there.
Im so pissed at myself for accidentaly leaving that in the zip i had you guys downlaod.
That take was a beta version.

Those harmony parts are the lead vox.

Listen to Kainz latest entry, or my version on the main page to hear what i mean.

Also about the guitars.
It sounds as if youve used so much eq, that youve turned the guits into a shit smear.

Perhaps take the eq off a tad on those.

{EDIT} also the drums are quite 70's sounding at the moment.
Which im sure Nakatira would love, but for modern metal it dosent cut the Century Media mustard.

Your link dosent work on any of my browsers.

Put it to an mp3 format and upload it here www.lightningmp3.com

I just tried the link on a second computer and it worked for me?! My studio DAW doesn't have an internet connection...so I will have to repost the song in mp3 format a little later today when I get back from the gym. If you don' mind my asking...what exactly does it say when you click on the link?

Heh, the intro sounds like it may be the intro to a techno song.

The screams being far panned and quiet at the end...not feelin that so much.

The singing vox? SWEET!!!! nice one!

The revese thing at the end i dont like either, but the first reverse thing is cool, all though it is a tad too loud.

Also, there is too much in the high mids in this mix, where exactly its coming from im not sure.

Cheers for the reveiw. I enjoy a good slating sometimes! :)
The intro was influenced by A perfect circley style. Could sound very slightly like Techno intro but I really like it. Do you not like it?
I wasnt sure about the scream volumes and thought they maybe were a little quiet. Gonna fix that for defo.
Glad you like the vox. :) Great recording in the first place. Didnt process that much really.
I didnt use any reverseing on this song, just carefull volume and pan automation. Both parts are identical. Although they do sound different because of the rest of the mix. Im gonna bring the second one down a bit.
I added a tiny bit of hi mids (about 1dB at around 3-4K) at mastering as it made the mix sound crisper and cleaner and more in your face. I think it works well, but I can always not add that when I master my next mix.
Again thanks for the reveiw. Your reveiws are getting quite brutal now. I like. :)

Ok back to my original plan of going for a basic straight forward mix with no special intro.

http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=1183

I fixed the hi-mids and brought the screams up and took the scream effect parts down.
There seems to be more energy now that the scream tracks are boosted.
I like the panning on the scream parts so gonna leave them as they are. Sorry Finster.

I made a few quick changes and added just a couple of automated sections. I haven't had too much time in the studio lately to put much into this one but I have at least invested an hour on it now. Half that time was spent just sorting out the tracks and coming up with a plan of which to use and which to not use. Hopefully this week I can start listening to some of the other mixes from you guys:)

Sounds quite similar to my mix in the EQ and volume and pan balance. Although the vox seem a bit stuck out. The dynamics are good at times. :)

I like this mix.

Man. I kinda liked that vocal part. Looks like I'm going to have to redo all my vox.

Beer and Cheese Doodles....man, I just might try that. :D

just got the files on cd from NL5 (thanks mate!), and man...i have to say that i really don't know where to start. 6 tracks of bass guitar? 20 tracks of vocal harmonies? 713 tracks of drums? i'm a little bit agape at this moment.

i'll prolly play around with this one some, but i can't say that i'll be giving it the best college effort. i think i'm a little out of my league here.....especially given the nonexisting amount of free time i've got. :p

although, i sat my 2 month old son on my lap last night while i started dicking around with the drums, and he was taken in by all of the channel meter lights on the screen--eyes wide open watching it all go. it's already well-established that he loves drums, so he was a happy little drooling guy hanging there with dad. :D

cheers,
wade
