can hear the edit at the lead brake. whats the hahahahaha?????? (i think i like it though)
like a lot of the things you did though.![]()
I'm glad you liked some of it. That's about what I was aiming for, really.
The 2 basic problems with me mixing this thing, aside from some of the ergonomic issues of turning it into a jigsaw puzzle are:
1.) I hardly ever try to mix anything - lack of experience
2.) My DAW is set up in a foam covered room. The monitors work ok for tracking stuff, but it's damn near impossible to get close to anything realistic in terms of a mix, so it's a process of getting where I think I'm close, then dumping out a mix, resampling it to CD audio, burning it onto a CD-R and listening on the stereo. You can imagine how long it takes to decide that the bass needs to come down 1.2 dB, etc...
But what the hell. I love making excuses.

Yeah, the edit at the lead break has a completely different dynamic going on than the part that I spliced it to, so that one's pretty noticeable.
The laugh in the middle of the second verse comes from the very end of the male vocal track (after the song), right before the word "cool". I tried to fit about 10 different things in there that didn't work - so far that's the best fit I could come up with. It would be easier if I had another set of master tracks for a different song with the same vocalist. The word "cool" appears in my mix at the end of the tune, as the "Pac-Man on heroine" noise.
It was still a lot of fun putting this thing together, despite some obvious faults and a sense that it's unfinished. At least nobody noticed how badly the acoustic guitar goes out of sync during the lead break yet. (Don't tell anyone...)
And the modgeulated mix is pure genius!
