A recent discussion about recording guitar in mono vs stereo made me think about this...
A friend over on the Audition forums recently suggested a VST plug in called "SHEPPI" to me. Basically it adds fake stereo spatial information to a mono signal--and does a darn good job of it from what I can see based on a couple evenings playing.
Yeah, it's an effect not real stereo but I can see it being useful on some types of mix.
It's free but (for now at least) limited to 32 bit only so you'll need a bridge if you have a 64 bit only DAW.
Don't be scared by the price tag shown on the page--that's some paid for software they're comparing it to, not SHEPPI itself (but the page layout makes it easy to misinterpret!
Worth downloading a trying it out anyhow--I'm finding new capabilities each time I play.
