ProTools and BFD

Hey there, I think this threat fits perefctly in the newbie section. I'm new (duh) to drum programming. I've searched the web for any information concerning sequencing in ProTools but I still cannot figure how to do that.

My question is about BFD. I got the 1.5 Lite version that came with the proTools LE. I'm actually working with an MBox2 USB interface. The million dollar question is:

"How the hell can I record what the drum is playing in a ProTools track?"

Any advice, help, reading material, suggestion or trick will be apreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cool, be kind with a newbie in MIDI and explain what you know (pass the acknowledgment!!!) Thanks a lot brother.

PD: Just in case. I already got a song and I want to add drums to it. I'd like to know what are the best ways to do it.
 
The easiest way I have found to use BFD with Protools is to create a stereo instrument track and load BFD stereo as an insert. Make sure to raise your fader to 0.

Open BFD's grooves folder and move MIDI files from the lists on the far left and far right into the middle catergorys. You can demo them here.

If you like what you hear, drag it onto your instrument track. Highlight it, duplicate it or repeat it a few times, the find yourself a fill from the fills folder. Find one you like, drag it in. Repeat until finished with your track.

You can go back and physically change small parts to add some diversity to your beats with the pencil and eraser tool if you want.

Get a grasp on that, then move onto BFD all sending each drum to its own track.

Hell yeas, it works, It has never ocurred to me that I cand rag the files like that, thanks man. So, traht's teh easy way. Works fine for me bu... just in case, will you explain me the hard technique? Just to know.

Did you record to a click track, or some other form of timekeeping device? If not, putting drums on will be difficult. The timing will be way off.

Glad you ask. I'm a freak of time. So maybe when I play with the band I'm off time in some passages but when I'm creating or pracicing a song I'll work with a score program to have the most perfect notation. And I practice with that score and a metornome. When recording is the same, I work with a click to be in tempo. I assume matching the drum tracks won't cause much troubles. Thanks for the advice.
 
So you know....

If you played with a click, put PT in Grid Mode, set to 1/4 notes...BFD works really well with the grid mode.

Not sure the differences honestly...probably fewer kits and you may not have the multi-out option.
