I wasn't going to come back here, but read what I wrote. I said the Ampeg SVT amps from the Classic Series (of which the SVT-1000 is one) are NOT tube amps. I wasn't entirely correct, because one of them is, but three of the four are not.
There is no "SVT" line of Ampeg bass amps. There are the Anniversary Classic, Classic, and Pro series of bass amp heads. They all have models with "SVT" in the name.
The Anniversary Classic series has one model, the SVT-AV. It is all-tube.
The Classic series has four: the SVT-350H, SVT-450H, SVT1000, and SVT-CL. The first three are all completely solid state. The last, the CL, is all-tube.
The Pro series has five: the SVT-2PRO, SVT-3PRO, SVT-4PRO, SVT-5PRO, and SVT6PRO. The SVT-2PRO is all-tube. The rest are all hybrid tube preamp/MOSFET power amp.
Now, take what I said originally: "except the Classic series", so we can eliminate those. Of the remaining amps in question, only one is solid state. Only one is all tube as well, and the rest are hybrids, but in my original post I stated that they're going to be "tubed, at least in the preamp."
Stop trying to pull up the specs of one model as if its indicative of every amp they make, and then trying to use that as your only basis of discussion. You're not going to pull one over on me. I properly qualified every comment I made. Do the same.
