I saw a short demo yesterday of ProPak/24, and I was especially impressed with the mastering application called "free filter"....the one key-stroke needed to apply free-filter instantly brought out a huge amount of harmonic content (mids and highs mostly)--the result was amazing--the song "sparkled with presence" to a point that I would be quick to call it "pro"....question--does this free-filter application actually analyze the data on-the-fly and then choose and apply EQ settings based on this analysis?....or....
is free-filter simply an extravagant "preset"?--albeit a damn good one...2d question--I live in the mid-west and for the most part we wind up paying premium prices for soft-ware...is 699. too much to pay for CuBase ProPack/24?...

ok, I'll reply to myself....well self, yes, the "free-filter" application in producer pac/24 does infact analyze the content and then applies eq based on that analysis....and yes, you can tweak free-filter, but, Mr. self, right now you're not as good a tweaker as "free-filter"....you'll have to give yourself some time--maybe a 6 week learning-curve, and then we'll see....and no, 699. is not too much to pay for quality software, even for you mid-westerners....later.
