Hi,

So yeah, I finally got my recording stuff (minus one bass mic (DAKG D112) to arrive within the next few days), but I'm having a little problem with the soundcard. I use N Track to record, and it won't let me for example play something in Media Player and record at the same time (I get an "Error opening wave device" box). I can't play N-Track's built in metronome either (no clicks to be heard at all!), so therefore I can't play along to a click track!

I'm assuming this problem is due to the settings on my computer. In N Track the soundcard I've selected for playback and recording is "M Audio Delta AP 1/2", I've got the same selected in Windows > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. So, has anyone got any advice on how to get everything working in harmony?

Thanks very much,

Tom

P.S. I spent four hours today recording thirteen (yes a whole thirteen!) minutes of music, burnt it to CD, only to find that I had the headphone volume right down all the way through, so it was all way too quiet...hehe, live and learn!

Im not so sure you can access both programs simultaneously.
You will need a N-Track guy to help you out with the click track setting. It has something to do with the program, not the card.

AP 2496

1. If the click track is played via general midi, then it won't play on the AP2496. The card does not have a midi synth on board.

2. Play with the output settings on the M-audio panel. You should select Monitor Mixer. This will allow you to hear anything you have plugged into the card as well as audio files played on the computer.

if you do this, make sure all the inputs into the monitor mixer are unmuted with faders to unity. The place you select monitor mixer is on the Patchbay/Router page, in the column on the far left.
