Problems triggering sounds in DM-PRO

I am attempting to use PD-9 and/or PD-7 pads to trigger sounds in a DM-PRO. I am new at this and I'm not sure exactly how to make it happen. I can get sounds out of the DM-PRO using a keyboard or by auditioning them on the DM-PRO panel, but no luck with the pads.

I can see the input trigger on the DM PRO when I adjust the trigger settings...i.e. the when adjusting the gain, the meter at the bottom shows activity when I hit the PD9 pad.

Are there settings that I could be missing or something in the connections I need to look for? Or maybe I just don't have the trigger set correctly to actually make a sound. I've done the best with the manual that I can.

Sorry for such a dumb question.

It sounds like you have the threshold all the way up.

The gain sets the volume of the trigger pad and the threshold tells the DMpro to trigger the sample when the signal level gets above the threshold level.

You also have to assign a sound to the input that the pad is plugged into.

Make sure that you aren't plugging the pad into the hi hat controller input.

Thanks for the follow up. Here is what I did last night...

The threshold was set at -40 so I lowered it to -80.

The gain has been set to 99.

When the pad is hit, the meter on the gain setting shows a strong signal.

I "think" I have a sound assigned to this trigger input. I am using trigger 1 (kick).

When I audition the sound on the front panel for this note assignment, it makes a sound. But there still is no sound when I use the pad.

I have run through some of the other parameters in the trigger settings but no luck yet.

I would imagine that there is something simple or basic that keeps the trigger from producing a sound, but I just haven't found it yet.

Could it be in a setting for the drum note?

I will keep trying everything but if anyone has any other advice, I would appreciate it.

Try one of the other inputs, see what happens.

Also, make sure that you are listening to the output that the sound is assigned to. There are 4 outputs that the sound can come out of.
