Just wanting to know if anybody has had any experience with having problems with hiss / buzz when trying to record an electric guitar directly without a mic. It seems that while my hand is physically touching the strings there isn't a noise floor at all, but as soon as I let go (such as moving between chords, etc.., ) there is an annoying interval of noise in the signal. Seems like a grounding problem of some sort. Anyone else troubleshooted this sort of problem? Basically I'm trying to record directly through a POD into the comp. Thanks.

Some electronic noise can be a common problem when recording into a computer. Often, moving further away from the computer or often simply turning your body (I find if I face away from the computer it helps alot.

If those steps do not help, then perhaps you need a tech to look at your guitar. I know there are some low cost mods that can be made to a guitar to help shield the electronic noise (I recall reading about aluminum foil, etc)

It's basically all my guitars, including bass. Any Idea where you read that info?
