Hi, I got myself a RNC1773 to use a compressor before inputing in the computer but my problem is that it buzzes like crazy.
I use a ES-335 guitar (neck pickup, tone 0, very very rich/deep sound) plugged into a M-Audio DMP3 that's then feeded into the RNC and then feeded to a M-Audio Ozone plugged into an iMac G5 recording with Live.
For some reason if I set the release time on the RNC to anything else then 5 seconds it will buzz as soon as the compressor kicks-in and even for low reductions (~2 dB). It does it a lot more with the bass strings.
The thing is, even the Live compressor won't buzz with 35:1 ratio, .03 attack and 1ms release.
The DMP3 doesn't output anything crazy and never clips. Also its signal is crystal clear. If I "bypass" the signal on the compressor I also get a clear signal.
I don't know much about compressors but is that a sign that the unit is defective? Or is it a problem with the setup? I use unbalanced TS cable between the DMP3 and the RNC and from the RNC to the Ozone.
Thanks
